JoJo works across many mediums and it is with the skills and knowledge of this that she has developed unique training and personal development workshops using humour at its core.

Working in such a high pressured, competitive and often combative environment whilst keeping audiences thoroughly entertained is why JoJo is one of the most sought after acts in the UK.  The many and varied techniques and psychology implemented to perform comedy are equally effective when used in a workplace environment and offers a fresh, new approach to day to day communications, particularly for women in business.

A writer and actor who has founded her own theatre company, JoJo Sutherland has written and performed in several plays at the Edinburgh Festival, had work commissioned by the BBC and appeared in several short films.  She is also a regular contributor to the on-line magazine Standard Issue as well as a bi-monthly column in MADE magazine.

JoJo is currently playing a lead role in the internet sitcom "?????????????????", along side Tom Stade and Daniel Sloss.

As a TV warm artist she is regularly requested to entertain the audience during filming breaks for studio based sitcoms as well as providing tour support for acts such as Jenny Eclair and US comic Louis Ramey.

JoJo's dulcet tones can often be heard advertising companies ranging from Royal Mail to Royal Bank of Scotland.  You can also hear her as a regular gust on a variety of BBC Radio Scotland shows along with her stand-up featuring in various programmes for the channel.

Her gift for performance and speaking to a crowd has allowed JoJo to turn to after dinner speaking, her corporate clients incluing: RBS, Microsoft, Standard Life along with a host of football/rugby/golf sporting clubs.

Working as a comedy tutor, JoJo is proud to be workshop leader for both Laughing Horse and Universal Comedy ?????, teaching comedy techniques to individuals and groups, some of whom are recovering from long term ill health.

Meet the worlds first pro female snooker referee. Michaela inspires and motivates women in business at engagements exploring her experience as one of the few females who has a story about success in a man’s world.

Michaela Tabb made big news when she broke into the exclusive male club that was snooker refereeing. The former European Pool Champion proved a popular choice as she garnered unprecedented numbers of fans for a referee, not only in snooker, but in any sport.

Pool was Michaela’s first love and that’s where her refereeing career began. Over her 17-year career with Matchroom Sport she refereed all their major pool events including the infamous Mosconi Cup. She quickly developed a no-nonsense reputation within the game following numerous dealings with the character Earl Strickland, who famously gave her flowers by way of an apology live on Sky Sports at the World Pool Championships.

Michaela made history every step of the way with her cue sports career, and was the first woman to referee any ranking match, which progressed to the first Final followed by numerous finals. The pinnacle of her career was the honour of refereeing two World Championship finals at the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield. The first Final was in 2009 between John Higgins and Shaun Murphy and the second was in 2012 between Ronnie O’Sullivan and Ali Carter.

Following Michaela’s resignation from the Professional game in 2015 she has continued to work on the entertainment circuit and enjoys refereeing snooker exhibitions and attending presentation evenings.  More recently Michaela has moved into speaking and has attended several After Dinner engagements as one of the few females who has a story about success in a man’s world!

Michaela has also joined forces with JoJo Sutherland for an evening of comedy and cue stories – a speaking engagement with a twist!

It made sense that Michaela moved into arranging snooker exhibitions as all her experience lies in this field and her contacts are extensive.

My story – ‘Should I stay or should I go now’

The words of The Clash song, ‘should I stay or should I go now’, was something that went over and over in my head for a long time before I finally jumped ship in November 2012 from one of the biggest independent PR agencies in the UK, to fly solo!

Thankfully it turned out to be one of the best decisions I’ve ever made, other than having two beautiful, incredibly loving and funny little boys.

‘Walk before you run’, I thought which is definitely not what happened, as I landed one of the world’s largest hotel chains within the first month.  From then on, daily, I became to realise that, in the words of my parents, ‘you really can do anything you want, as long as you put the effort and your heart into it’, (I do recall they even said ‘even if you want to be an astronaut’). I’ve a lot to thank them for, in particular their ‘glass half full’ outlook on life.

My business, Michelle Brown PR, has just turned three and what a great three years it has been.  My mistakes are called learning and yes, there’s been one or two. But they are my learnings and without them I wouldn’t be where I am today.  Being in charge of my own destiny, time, where I need to be and what I do, really is a gift!

I was asked early on what success looked like to me and it was and still is, being able to run a business which is challenging, rewarding and great fun and balance that well with actually being in my boys’ lives who I am incredibly blessed to have.

The hectic mornings getting out the door still happen daily, the ‘going to bed’ routine and sleeping in their own beds is still a hit or a miss, but what’s really important for me is that these are not the only moments I get to share them.

On a cracking day the pen goes down and out to the Meadows we go.  When it snows, we get the sledges out – regardless of the time of day, the appointments, the sports days, the playdates and all special memories the whole family has and will have forever is what success smells, feels and looks like for me.

Sharing my story is something I love to do, especially if it can inspire other people to take the leap – I’ve never looked back, not once, and know I never will, as long as I have my ‘two very happy boys’ and of course, my very supportive, encouraging husband, who has had my back the entire time.

My three-year journey steering my own ship with an incredible crew on board, including family members and close friends who really helped me out along the way, really has allowed me to be able to all the things I love from creating and implementing exciting multi-channel integrated PR/Communications campaigns for clients of all shapes and sizes and business development and training with start-ups and growth businesses to lecturing at Universities and film producing.

I will always continue to upskill and research more and different areas to branch into, however I’m sure Jojo will agree her Stand Up Comedy Course I attended, although one of the funniest and most enjoyable one’s I’ve ever attended, might just be better left to the real comedians.

When I’m not doing any of the above, you’ll find me either flying a kite in the Meadows, up Blackford Hill, at Yellowcraig beach or enjoying coffee and hot chocolates at a local coffee shop with the very special three people in my life.
